Default Car Show 9-16-07

yea i entered my second car show today, a lady was passing out fliers at work and i took one and paid and i have a spot

I know my car isn't much but im not looking to take any award home, just going for the expierence, i have been to 1 in the past 6 months and i loved doing it and i took home a trophy last time for best lighting lol i wonder why, but this time im just going for the heck of it, it was only 15 bucks and its a benefit carshow for a girl with cancer so its a good cause, now here's my question...

Why do i need to do REALLY get ready, as far as cleaning and everything and what do i need to expect and stuff, the last one i went to waqs a 20 car car show so it wasn't big but this one is looking at around 80+ so i want to be lookin good lol, any advice will be gladly taken

~Matt~

Well, Let me give you my opinion Dude. Last night I went to Hot Import Nights in the Los Angeles Convension Center and I know exactly how you feel bout putting your car in and you know that you're not Ready. I saw a 95 Civic and a 98 Accord that looked decent but not exotic. Basic stuff, Rims, Interior & Bolt ons.
First you should Drop your Accord. Coilovers or lowering springs. You don't need Rims I've gone to other shows and some Rides have stock wheels.
Audio is a must.
Clean your Interior Really Good. (REALLY GOOD)
We're Aiming for a Trophy - You Better win something Son!!!!!!!!!!!!
Enter a Daily Drivin Street Car Entry, Cuz if there's going to be 80+ like you think, there's going to be differant Ranks for Trophy's. I say you start working on it right now and don't stop untill 10 Min. Before the show YOU GOT THAT!!!!! =P
P.s That was nice of you to donate $15.

basically you need to clean it up really well. shampoo the seats/carpet to get out any spots, clean the interior to get any dirt particles especially in the center console and window buttons. i found using a toothbrush and a good vacuum works well. armoral the interior and tires. clean the wheels well. clean the engine bay as best as possible with some grease lightning and armoral the hoses. for my first few car shows i bought a couple cans of black spray paint and repainted any brackets that were cracking or rusting. i also found that using a good cleaner wax on the painted parts under the hood (strut towers, front support, firewall) can clean them up well. that's all i can think of for now.
