Default So I Drove a 290 Mile Round Trip

Yesterday Some Dude call me from Modest California and he was Interested in Buying the Air Ride
Set-up I had for sale (on Craigslist) Modest is around 300 Miles from Los Angeles!!!

I told him "I'll meet you half way Dawg".

This Morning I Loaded all the Stuff, put some Gas and I took off Today around 7:50 am

I took you guys for the Ride

I was kinda eager to get there Quick so I didn't take much pictures going.

Grape Vine!

A few more Exits from there I stopped at a Town called "Earlimart" 2 hrs 145 miles from my Pad!!
But all and all it went well

Now for the way back. I chilled for a little bit at the Gas Station we met But I wanted to at least get to
"Grape Vine" and let my Baby rest (you'll see why)
I had the Cash in my Pocket so I had no Hurries to get back to L.A

Grape Vine. I stopped at a Big Gas Station and let my Civic Cool Off for like 15min and opened the Radiator Cap.
She was a little thirsty not too much but my temperature gauge was teasing me.
I also added Antifreeze on the Reserve tank and hopped back on the Highway.

The reason why I stopped on Grape Vine before the Mountain drive was to cool off,
add my Fluids and then go cause this Drive going up is No Joke!! I went 55mph - 60mph I didn't want to Risk it.

This was exactly why I checked my Water before I hit the elevation cause I'm not Lying,
I saw like 15 cars on the side of the Highway and this Poor Man's Bug on FIRE!!

Pyramid Lake. Nice!

75 mph on Neutral Rules

I haven't been here in years. Since 2000!!

Mucho Traffico FTL!

It took me like 3hrs to get home But What a Trip!

Home Sweet Home = Smoggy Los Angeles (it was Hot today)

how hot was it outside? i've never had cooling issues on mine before, i'm surprised you had to fill up on coolant.

going up the hill is familiar to you. The thing is that you all got another Freeway going towards Palmdale instead of going straight up.
Going to Vegas would be going up another Highway North East sort of. I was going up North. When I go, I'll try to take some Pics. That will be a While tho.
Hell no, when it Rains the Mountains to drive in are Scary as Hell. Scary cause there's people that Drive like if it's Dry and loose control!

I took off at almost 8am and got there in 2 hours. I put more Gas and started driving back at 10:30am. I got to Grape Vine in 1 hour where I took a Break and let her cool off to add Coolant. I grabbed some snacks and a Gatorade and the Gas Station Lady told me "well, better hurry cause it's going to be 108 today" It was already 97 degrees over there!! That and I have a feeling my water pump is a little bad My Civic always acts like that when I do long trips. The last time I went to Vegas, my temp gauge did that when I drove up for like 15 miles of so. It doesn't overheat n stuff, the Needle just starts passing the middle but doesn't get close to 3/4 or higher.

Thanks.

Yes but not entirely. Back to school is this week and I still need to get my Daughters cloths n stuff they need. You all know how that goes.

What I'm waiting on is to come up on a y7 Block from someone parting out or something. As soon as I get that, I can start planning everything out and start visualizing it

haha. i know. especially with my luck, its always 18 wheelers hogging the road. and where im talking about is mostly Virginia. maybe not all the time, but alot of times when i dorve through them mountains, it rained like extremely hard. scary as hell.

but why are you building a y7 for if you got the y8 head? (maybe this should be asked in your other thread)

Yea. If the Temp would go nuts on me, I would have replaced it already. Only on Long Trips.
It's steady as can be tho.
When I put my other y7 together, Hek yeah I'm putting a New Water Pump on that one

Yeah, I don't worry that much about it cause it's doing good, but when I do long trips I do. I haven't driven this far in......... Man, I can't even Remember! I think since Vegas 3 years ago.
