Default Made it to the track this last weekend

I was sad I lost all three runs to my wifes eclipse I am sure there is something wrong with my shit man it is making a raspy exhaust noise at high rpms I think I burnt a lobe on my cam? not sure I have dont like five valve adjustments I think it is right this time but still not running right. first I do know that my valve lash is supposed to be .007 intake and .009 exhaust. I only have .008 and .006 onl6y even numbers??? could that be my problem? I just did them with a loose .006 but .008 wouldnt fit on the intake side and a loose .008 but .010 wont fit. so i figured that would get it close?
oh i ran a 18.023 was the fastest run

any insight appreciated

Answer me this,

Stock Cam Gear?
Do you have a FPR? is so, why?
You have the MSD on? if so, why?
Do you have a Cat. Convertor? If you don't, that explains the fart rasp at high RPM's
Clutch?
When was the last time you did a tune up?
is your check engine light on?

If you have a y7 IM, there's one of your problems for losing 1/2 sec. :/

stock cam gear yes

fpr yes to make it adjustable and control lean injector pulses at high rpms.

mds yes because it is cool lol

cat no resonator yes and that doesnt explain the fart noise because it didnt do it before and i deffinatelly dont feel like it is as fast since i rebuilt it with the new head n all.

the clutch is fine never slips

um oil change like last week plugs when i rebuilt it and the wires are like two years old maybe?

no check engine light

I have parts son! I just sold a tps sensor last weekend. I have another one available if that was/is your problem. Having that fugly y7 IM is one of your slow problems.

Dude, we have the same set up, well, besides your y7 IM, FPR and MSD (which you don't need cuz you're stock) and I ran 17.35 on a 1/4 mile. And I'm a heavy ass 4dr!!!11!!!!!!

99-00 head lights are always going to look cleaner then 96-98 head lights because of the style of them.

We'll talk about them later...

my car sounds like a valve is knocking when i start it up in the morning. I think my valve lash is off and it started making the noise right after i did a valve adjustment, I have done it like five times now trying to get rid of the noise.but it doesnt do it all the time only in the morning when i first start it up and at high rpms it makes that farting noise i was talking about. and yes y8 im will be back i promise

Hmmm I might try that lol either way it will quiet it down, I put some in it when i first put it back together but i have done two oil changes since then.
why would you say rod bearing first it is weird i have heard those go out. it seems a little more high pitched kind of pingy at high rpms? but yeah im pissed it is not doing me good right now.

oh and chris i use castrol 5-30
