Default B20 vtec or Turbo?

Okay guys, I need some help, because I can't stop arguing with myself.

Got a 94 hatch si. Strong strong strong B20/hydro combo right now.

...and it needs to be faster. I CANNOT decide between Vtec or turbo.
It seems I would be spending around the same amount either way I go.

Vtec = B16A2 head in good shape - Golden Eagle B20/vtec kit - ARP head studs - APR rod bolts - p28 ecu.

Turbo = ARP head studs - P28 - and the turbo kit.

I'm torn, even down to which would even sound better. B20 with vtec? Would sound awsome...but then duh, tubos sound cool as fuck...but vtec man...

Advice? Personal exp? Opinions?

if you go turbo, wouldn't you need to build the block also? I mean, considering the fact that you say you want serious power n all.

on your B20v setup, you say "Golden Eagle B20/vtec kit" what would you do to the block here?

also depends what your goal is.
what's your power goal?

Would like to leave the block stock in both cases. If I go turbo, my goal would only be a very mild 7-8psi.

But I'm really leaning towards V. It would be such a N/A beast.

And what I've typed here so far is just in my head. I really don't know what all it requires, thats why I'm posting here

This is my first b20 and my goal is just to make it just fast enough to smoke Mustang GTs and such. I'm on the level of a VR-4 right now.

i'm partial to turbo. nothing like feeling boost kick in as a turbo spools up. turbo lag does suck though. but they do sound sexy as you mentioned.

It seems like going turbo would be more of a pain in the ass...but I mean com'on, it's a turbo lol,..

Any exp someone has with this would help by the way.

One or the other is happening after my birthday May 23rd.

i can show you a big list of mods it took a couple friends with a b20V setup, just to get 220whp all motor. its kind of alot, and one is using a GSR head.

the b16 head is more balanced though. i dont know too much about b20 VTEC setups. but i think it would be cool to turbo the b20. that way, your hp/tq ratio is still close, instead of having 200whp 135ish tq.

theres another guy out here with a b20 boosted in his CRX, and it made 202whp 199tq. i think those numbers sound better.

i met a guy who just walked up to me as im cleaning my car with my hood popped. he had a 99-00 coupe like mine, but red. he had a b20 non VTEC (dont know if it was b20b or b20z). all he had was an intake i believe. when we raced, it sounded nice. it sounded like it had VTEC. i wouldnt worry about having VTEC or not. alot of people remove it to race at the drag strip. i dont know how it exactly may help though.

dont you have a 99-00 EM1 with 182whp? i know the b16 will have much less torque than me, but when i dynoed 184whp, its got me murdering mustang GT's. maybe not the new 2011 5.0, but all the previous ones atleast.

Yea, I'm not talking about a new Mustang Gt...they are pretty insane out the gate, I have much respect for a new GT.

But this EG will outrun my EK because of the weight diff and the B20 has much more tourqe...with the b20, if feels like Vtec kicks in at 2k rpms and it's just continuous power all the way to 6.3 or .4. It does sound really good aswell, I love it. But I know if I turbo'd the thing, it would just be sick; at the same time, I don't want to lose my awsome daily driver abilities that I have with it right now.

Like I said, there are pros and cons to both, and I'd like to freaking decide allready. Turbo is always more of a risk ya know
