Default well... my car is screwed...

i took a 20 mile road trip to my college for drumline tryouts and once i got home from the trip i pulled it in and 30 mintues later had to move it to let my parents out of the garage, and when i did there was a huge oil puddle on the concrete where my oil had leaked out. Our original thoughts were that it was my drain plug because i forgot to put the washer back on it but i got under it and the oil pan was spotless, my next guess was my valve cover gasket, and that to wasn't the problem, well i finally get under it and my dad turned it on and it starts seeping out of the transmission..... so, my rear main seal = bye bye.... so im swapping engines here pretty quick, so sometime before the end of june i should have an h22... im pretty ticked because this is not what i needed right now, i just had to put the down payment on an apartment, and then i had to get another gas guage and fuel sending unit from honda which was 400 dollars and now im fixing to be out another 1200+ dollars... no bueno

I'm so pissed off... the dang thing is leaking everywhere.... .its not just the rear main either, it looks like the timing seal might have gone to, and it blew through my BRAND NEW oil pan gasket as well.... you know swapping will be nice, but i didn't want to do it this second, oh well... looks like ill be driving the minivan for a bit...

ouch, goodluck man. I'd pick up an engine from h-motors if you don't want to have to rebuild it before install.

well it is from japan but i tink it says like 64000 on it, which still isn't bad at all, i was willing to buy a motor with up to 90k on it but i found that one. And yes Gabe i know h22.... but this means that i won't be ableto boost anyway, but im going to keep my f22 and rebuild and maybe by the end of the summer ill drop it back in there and slap a turbo on it

Damn bro! That sucks! Sorry to hear that. Looks like I might have to swap my engine too with my Hatch. But the good thing is that I could pick up a Single Cam Vtec for a couple of hundreds only. G'luck with the swap!

Well after talking for a while with my dad and friends that want to help and calling around for labor on my engine im leaning towards this h22a

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...m=140226716707

i can pick it up and not have to worry about shipping charges i can get it in a day and then brign it home and get to work, it came straight from japan i talked to the guy who actually pulled it and he said its one of the best running, cleanest engines he's pulled, it looks awesome just by the pictures and it is straight out of an accord so its a direct bolt in swap im actually getting all excited about this input?

we ran into a bump with this engine, it has to be installed in a "profeesional shop by a certified mechanic".... which i have neither of and its around 1000 bucks just for installation at work... what do you guys think, my dad's worried about me getting the engine and it going boom a week after we install it

Why does it have to be installed by a "professional shop by a certified mechanic"? I mean, is it to cover their warranty or something?

not great the engine total im guessing after misc. stuff will be 1300 and that would be it if i could install it myself, which i can, but if i want the warranty i have to have it installed for me.... which will be 800+ so im really screwed here....
