huh.......anybody know exactly how gm and toyota are tied together. Ex. the pontiac vibe sporting the toyota engine, and the toyota prizm?

i dont know the details, but GM and Toyota have been working together for several years to produce enviornmentally friendly engines. I think they share a plant in california where they do research and production.

ya, it's kinda weird what companies are in cahoots with each other, so here's another one then, what about mitsubishi and dodge, there's the dodge stratus sxt coupe, i think it's an 04, the only thing dodge is the badges, any input on this one?

Honda and GM have done some deals in the past as well. The first generation Saturn VUE uses a Honda V6 as it's power-plant. In exchange for that GM gave them a little diesel engine to use in some European Civics...

I don't really think the engineering at GM is what is to blame for their losses. It's actually quite good for the most part. Plus they have worked with many foreign car companies on joint ventures. And from that stuff you get the ECOtec engine, the GM 2mode hybrid transmission, etc. The problem is poor managment, unions, and heavy competition from Japan.
