dude that really sucks but its going to be a pain to fix ill tell you that much, the motor is running but there is the little "chain/pulley" type thing that is either broke or fried, and to fix that is going to be a bunch of fun, or its possible that the sunroof itself is off track... somethings to check out, i know from experience that the first reason is expensive to get fixed, been there done that...

this really sucks cause this is the first time im going to mess with a sunroof.. i dont even know where the motor is located or how to get to it. if its the chain/pulley would it be easy to change it or what if its the sunroof itself is off track? i always drive with the sunroof open.. sucks big time..

well if you can move it open and closed with your hand then why worry about it right now? if the paint job is mor important to you then don't let the sunroof get in that way

In some cars on the back of the head liner is a plastic cap that you can pop off. There's a type of screw that lets you manually open and close the sunroof.
