well i got the head swap done a couple of days ago. but changing the timing belt has been a nightmare first it took like to days to get the crank pully off and then to find out someone striped out my bolt head on my ten. so i finaly got it off last night, and got the belt put on today. i ran into a problem though the belt is tight but when ever i crank it over like two times it starts to slip off any ideas? this has been so

I know when my AC belt came off, there was a place to adjust the tension. I would guess there is a way to adjust that somewhere, I just don't know. Oh, I could also be completly wrong!

it also runs like it has no power at all to it. i started it up last night and let it run for like a min and it was really loud but ack like it wasnt getting much power, then the belt started to slip so i turned it off.

this sounds to me like you moved the crank around a little when removing your Belt and the Head is not Timed. Did you get a new bolt and are you using the same Tensioner? Or did you use the same bolt and some Tensioner? Did you put your Old Belt on? or did you get a Belt for a z6? |

1. on your Block, what does it say after the D16? D16z6? 2. on your other civic you got the head from, what does it say on that block? it's ok that you used the same Tensioner, unless it's Bad, then it needs to be Replaced. also, when you got the New Belt, for what civic did you get it for? (I'm just making sure before we answer to help you further) |

well my dad came and looked and said it was in timed. i messed with it and pryed the ten. tighter and the belt stay on but i only let it run for three min. we was in a hurry. but im going to kentucky till monday and then going to go back over to where it is and let it run for a lil bit and watch the belt real good. this is goin to make me look really dumb but i forgot to put them metal spacer looking things on the one that goes behind the crank. are this a must have? just want to make sure before i actually hit the street with it.

Cool. Now that you got everything going, I think it'll be a good idea to do a Tune-up.

i don't know for sure, but i wanna say no. I'd check d-series.org (sorry to promote another site guys!) but they specialize in d-series motors and could better answer your question.

The only think is you might have some compression Issues, But changing the Pistons would take car of that problem. |
