Default ecu problem

i just had a swap done to my 1995 civic and had b18c gsr put in....they gave an ecu saying it was chipped for gsr but it red lines at 7000 rpm. i then got a p30 ecu and had the same problem. do you think this is a wiring problem or just bad luck with ecu? Do you think a vtec controller can correct this problem?

Aren't you supposed to run a p72 for that motor?

Yeah you should be using a P72 ecu if you're running a GSR swap.

for a p72? i think that's a little high personally. but i guess considering p72's aren't as readily available like p28s or p06s then yeah, that's not a horrible price.

well, i'd say just buy the one from the junkyard, I doubt you're going to find one much cheaper than that.

P30's the Del Sol VTEC ECU if I'm not mistaken.

A P28 can be chipped to control the butterflies of the P72 I believe...but then you'd have to go through the hassle of getting it retuned.
