I Know Exactly what you went through to get that Carpet out, Paint with Fabric spray paint and reinstalling it back on, cause I did the same thing to my civic. I Gutted EVERYTHING out so I can do the Upholstery and wire my T.V's and my Switches. Nice work Dawg Really!! Hey, the Upholstery dude where I get my Interior stuff done can do Seat covers. Not Them cheap covers they sell at them Auto Part Stores, I'm mean you rip out your old seat covers and slip the new ones on. If you're Interested, let me know with Time. Good Luck.

I think I have some Coilovers laying around somewhere.
The Engine degreaser that I use is called "GUNK". Looking at your Engine looks like you'll need 3 cans atleast. I covered my Distr. cap, alternator and fuse box. I spray like crazy all over the place, let it sit for bout 10 min. then wash it off with a good pressure nossle on the Water hose. I like to use my Air compresor to Blow everything off to dry it. just be carefull to read direction cause the last time I cleaned it fast and my check engine light turned on.

Gunk is awesome. i used it to clean my valve cover before painting. highly reccommend it. but like pata078 said be careful with it. it's pretty nasty stuff.

although now that i think about it, i think for cleaning the whole engine bay you should just stick to Simple Green or any degreaser you'd use in the house. i used simple green on mine. i've heard of people spraying it in, letting it sit and then rinsing it out with a hose, but i'm too nervous to do that. so i spent hours doing it the hard way by spraying and wiping with a rag. it takes longer, but the results are awesome. i can see my own reflection in the underside of my hood, lol

Honestly, that's the way I've always done it, and I've never ever had a problem. I was nervous the first time too, but now I'm pretty liberal with the Simple Green and the hose. And the only preventive thing that I do is take off the air filter (running an AEM short ram for anyone who didn't know). I mean I'm careful with the distributor, the alternator, the fuse box, and the plug wires. I don't douse them or try to drown them, but I've never ever covered anything.

That's probably really stupid of me, but honestly I've never ever had a problem doing it that way, and I've done this to several cars. I open the hood, let the engine cool, wash everything gently with the hose, then spray on the de-greaser and let it sit for a while. After that I hose it off good, repeat the process if necessary, and then put the air filter back in, turn the car on, let it idle for ten minutes or so, and bam, your engine is clean, dry, and ready to detail (shine up any chrome or billet pieces, armor-all the hoses, wax any painted parts, whatever you want to do).

So I guess what I'm saying is that I've never ever had a problem doing it that way, but I'm not going to officially recommend it to anyone, because somebody else will probably try it, mess up their motor somehow, and then be like "DAMN YOU 94ACCORDEX!!!!!11"
