Default iPhone 3Gs

I might actually break down and buy two of them (ones for the wife). Impressed with the features it has.

Our contract has been up for awhile now on Verizon so I do like not being tied down. There's only 1 or 2 phones I like on Verizon though. Only concern for me is coverage, I get coverage just about anywhere on Verizon, hiking at 12,000+ft I have a couple bars or even the remote areas of eastern CO and Kansas. I get a company discount on the service/data plans on both Verizon and ATT so it really comes down to coverage for me.

That's my only worry. Not that I'm remote areas often but it's nice to know I have coverage. Even ice fishing in the middle of the lake which is in the middle of no where I get a couple bars.

Hmm. The iPhones fanboy forums just talk about the features and complaints how the iphone can't get them dates with hot chicks or whip their a$$. Seems like no one uses to make calls.

I thought about an iPhone too, but ended up just getting an iPod Touch and keeping a separate cell phone. The Touch can pick up wireless wherever there's a signal, so that's good enough for me...

Yea I'm pretty disappointed with verizon's phone selection, but I don't think i'll change because I get great service and i get a discount through work. Between the two, verizon definitely has the most consistent coverage, so if that's the most important factor to you, i'd say stick with verizon and get an ipod touch like Ben said.
